Artist Robert Bissell Shares His Latest Work March 1st at Lahaina Galleries in Newport Beach
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) February 28, 2014 -- British-born, now San Francisco-based artist Robert Bissell will show his latest art at Lahaina Galleries at Fashion Island in Newport Beach, California this Saturday, March 1st, from 4 – 7 pm. On view will be ten new original paintings, a limited edition print titled The Chase in several sizes, and two recently completely sculptures, Drifters and Contemplation. Robert will be present to talk about this art as well as sign his first monograph, Hero, The Paintings of Robert Bissell. The show is free and open to the public.
“I am excited to return to Lahaina’s Newport Beach gallery and share the ideas and thoughts behind my newest work,” said Robert Bissell. “It features familiar animal figures that I have become known for, but projects these figures onto more minimalist landscapes with broader and more delicate, muted color gradients than those I have experimented with in the past. My hope is the presence of more still space on the canvas will let the viewer rest and experience the paintings as if they themselves were the figures in the landscapes and bring us closer to exploring what it means to be physically, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually part of the natural world using art as a medium.”

About Robert Bissell
Born in Somerset, England, artist Robert Bissell’s work has been featured in numerous solo and selected group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the United States and Europe. Robert is Lahainna Galleries’ most popular artist. His paintings are also part of many private and corporate collections worldwide.
Robert has a bachelor’s degree in photography from the Manchester College of Art, a master’s degree in fine arts photography from the Royal College of Art in London, and is a self-taught painter.
