Aschere Energy Attends Private Reception Honoring Speaker of the Texas House Joe Straus
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 28, 2013 -- Aschere Energy President Alex Parvizian attended a private reception the night of Tuesday October, 15th, honoring Texas Speaker Joe and Julie Straus and supporting his speakership and inspired leadership in advocacy of free enterprise, liberty and prosperity for the benefit of all Texas citizens. Straus represents District 121, which comprises northeastern Bexar County, including part of San Antonio, Texas, and several surrounding communities.
Speaker Straus is in his third term as Speaker of the Texas House, having been re-elected by a unanimous vote at the commencement of the 83rd Regular Legislative Session on January 8, 2013. Joe was unanimously elected Speaker in 2009, and re-elected overwhelmingly in 2011. Under his leadership, in 2010, Republicans reversed a trend of decline and turned a narrow two-seat Republican majority into a 52-seat super-majority, ensuring conservative government.
Since we elected Joe Straus in 2005, he has championed fiscal responsibility, making state government live within its means. As Speaker of the Texas House, he led the House in passing a budget that cut total spending by more than $14 billion. And he's one of the only legislators ever to wipe a tax off the books.

Straus, who was first elected to the House in 2005 and was later elected unanimously as Speaker of the House in 2009, is a lifelong Republican who is committed to fiscally conservative principles that limit unnecessary government regulations, foster job growth and allow for businesses to thrive. The result of that commitment is that since December 2009, 440,000 new jobs have been created in Texas under Speaker Straus’ leadership.
