ASCP Launches Online Toolkit for Diagnosis of Breast Cancer
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) April 21, 2016 -- The American Society for Clinical Pathology, the world’s largest professional membership organization for pathologists and laboratory professionals, today announced the launch of an evidence-based, online Dx Toolkit designed to enhance the understanding of the diagnosis and management of breast cancer.
Pathologists, Lab Professionals, Residents, and multi-disciplinary team members will have access to educational resources designed to improve best practices resulting in better patient care. The Toolkit is supported by a grant from Genentech.

The Toolkit permits pathologists and medical laboratory professionals to access resources at the point of need. Every resource is organized to seamlessly integrate with the laboratory work flow. The Dx Breast Cancer Toolkit is designed around actionable topics of tumor sampling, sample processing and transportation, testing and image analysis, scoring and interpretation, and reporting and clinician communication.
Unique to all cancer diagnostic education is that knowledge resources have a short shelf life. This site is refreshed on a regular basis with evidence-based research identified by ASCP subject matter experts. The Dx Toolkit leverages resources that are drawn from ASCP’s expansive library of peer-reviewed multimedia courses, academic journals, enduring materials, referential content, and Case of the Month series, which offers peer comparisons.
