Ashcroft & Oak Jewelry Stores: Why We Didn't Open on Thanksgiving Day Either
Louisville, KY (PRWEB) November 26, 2015 -- Ashcroft & Oak Jewelers, the largest family-owned & operated jewelry retailer in the USA, has maintained their decision this year to not open stores on Thanksgiving; an unforeseen move by anyone in the retail business due to the increases of holiday shopping traffic on this day.
“We respect the decisions of those competitors who will open [today] on Thanksgiving Day. They are doing what they believe is best for their businesses and we completely understand this. However, it is because of our associates that we continue to grow and they are the ones that make our business a family,” said President & CEO of Ashcroft & Oak Jewelers.
With the retail industry approaching its busiest & most demanding time of year, the management team of Ashcroft & Oak believes the decision to provide Thanksgiving Day off for associates was an obvious one; particularly when the holiday’s traditions echo the importance of bringing family and friends together.
In spite of potential operational fees and sales drawbacks associated with not opening doors, the statement continues, “It may have been in our competitors’ best interest to open today, but we believe it is in our best interest not to.”
