Associated Risk Managers (ARM) Selects Brenda Case as the 2015 ARM Weaver Memorial Award Winner
Itasca, IL (PRWEB) July 08, 2015 -- Brenda was awarded the designation at the ARM Annual National Conference, held April 29-30, 2015 in Nashville. She is a 44-year veteran of the insurance industry. In 1991, she acquired her father’s business, now Lowry-Dunham, Case & Vivien Insurance Agency, located in Slidell, Louisiana, where she serves as President.
“Brenda is so involved in the industry and has been an outstanding member of ARM and the insurance industry,” says Priscilla Hottle, residing chairman of ARM International. “I was truly honored to be able to present the award to her. I value her partnership and her friendship from a personal level. For me to have the opportunity to present this to her was moving. Her level of contribution to the industry and her community makes her an excellent choice.”
From the early 1990s, Brenda’s agency has been a member of ARM. She holds a Certificate of General Insurance from the Insurance Institute of America as well as the CIC designation. She is board director of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Louisiana and is past president of the Professional Insurance Agents of Louisiana (PIA of Louisiana), and was selected as the PIA (Louisiana) Agent of the Year in 2001. Brenda also served as the LED Ready Communities Pilot Program Co-Chair for 2008.
Her other honors include: the New Orleans Citi Business Women of the Year 2010 honoree, the 2010 East St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce Community Spirit Award, the 2008 Athena Award for leadership & professional excellence, and 1752 Club of Louisiana 2007 Insurance Woman of the Year. She has also been named Slidell Rotary Club Rotarian of the Year 1997; Insurance Women of St. Tammany Insurance Woman of the Year, 1983-84 & 1987-88.
“It’s such an honor to be this year’s recipient,” says Brenda Case. “I was surprised, flattered, and forever grateful to be in the same company as Bob Weaver and past winner Dick Simmons. ARM is such a wonderful organization. I’ve had the benefit of getting to know well the people in the industry and the caliber of people we have in the industry with all ARM agencies and everyone involved in ARM.”
The Weaver Memorial Award is named for the late Bob Weaver, who passed away in 2012. Weaver was an Ohio agent who served as Chairman of both ARM of Ohio and ARM International. Following his time as Chairman, he continued to be a Director for both organizations and served as ARM International Secretary. In his two decades of ARM membership, Bob held positions on every ARM of Ohio and ARM national committee.
“He was Mr. ARM,” says Brenda. “He was so dedicated to the ARM concept. A true champion to the organization. To even be put remotely in the realm of Bob Weaver is a huge honor.”
“I’ve always thought Brenda should win the award one day,” says John Case, CIC, Secretary of Lowry-Dunham, Case & Vivien, and Brenda’s husband. “She has put in a lot of time and effort for ARM. Brenda is diplomatic: she can get a lot done without hurting anyone’s feelings. I’m very proud of her. She’s always an award winner with me.”
“With all that ARM has accomplished, I think we’ve just scratched the surface of what’s possible and of the great things we’ll see,” says Brenda.
