Associates in Dermatology Lab Receives Accreditation from College of American Pathologists
Orlando, FL (PRWEB) January 29, 2015 -- The Accreditation Committee of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) has awarded accreditation to Associates in Dermatology Laboratory in Kissimmee. AID has multiple locations serving the Middle District of Florida. CAP is the leading organization of board-certified pathologists in the United States and, following a recent on-site accreditation inspection of the AID lab, informed Dr. Michael Steppie (President and Medical Director at AID) of their most recent achievement. AID proudly joins the more than 7,600 CAP-Certified medical facilities worldwide.
Founded more than fifty years ago, the U.S. federal government recognizes the CAP Laboratory Accreditation Program as being "equal to" or "more stringent" than the federal agency's own compliance inspection program.

The Associates in Dermatology laboratory director, Grigory Gelikman, MD, was directly advised of the laboratory's excellence of pathology services being provided and congratulated by CAP on the special recognition. Dr. Gelikman and his highly trained staff analyze biopsied tissue and interpret medical tests completed by other Associate in Dermatology physicians throughout the Middle District of Florida. Skin cancer diagnoses are also performed by AID dermatopathologists, dermatologists or mohs surgeons to determine the safe and complete removal of affected areas.

Dr. Steppie is a board-certified physician who has completed residencies in internal medicine, dermatology and dermatologic surgery and is a highly qualified MOHS micrographic skin cancer surgeon.
