Association of Divorce Financial Planners Concludes Successful Annual Conference
EAST NORTHPORT, NY (PRWEB) October 08, 2013 -- The Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP) recently concluded its 11th Annual Conference in Chicago. The three-day event drew a diverse group of attendees from around the U.S. and Canada eager to learn from and network with leading divorce financial planning professionals. The agenda included a one-day intensive ADFP University, followed by two-days of Conference presentations on a wide range of relevant topics.
According to Andrew Samalin, president of the ADFP, the conference organizers focused on programs and presentations that highlighted the quality, distinction and excellence of the association and its members. “We lined up an outstanding group of speakers considered to be leading practitioners in divorce financial planning,” said Samalin. “Each of them provided unique insight into the growing field of divorce financial planning, as well as practical tips and advice for attendees.”
Among the presenters were Bridgid Duffield, attorney and mediator, who provided a look at divorce from the attorney’s point of view, and Peggy Tracy, founder of Priority Planning, who discussed financial forensics and uncovering marital fraud.
The well-attended presentation given by Dan Caine, co-founder of Family Law Software, focused on helping divorce financial planners develop critical financial reports. Theresa Kulat of Trinity Law offered approaches for dealing with post-divorce issues that could affect earlier decisions and agreements.
Also on the slate of speakers were Lynn Torre, owner of Financial Transitions, who discussed the ways in which non-finance people think about and react to money, and Mary Pat Wesche who looked at the Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 and how it may affect divorcing couples.
Lili Vasileff, who presented the keynote address, was honored by the ADFP with its prestigious Pioneering Award. Ms. Vasileff, founder and president of Divorce and Money Matters, LLC, is co-founder of the ADFP and served as president for more than 11 years. She continues her involvement with the group as President Emeritus and member of the Board of Directors.
