Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) Introduces Regulatory Issue Review Form
York, PA (PRWEB) July 22, 2013 -- The Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) Laws & Regulations Committee has developed a new form for associate members. This form, the Regulatory Issue Review Form, will streamline the review process and ensure consistency in handling requests for review of regulatory issues. This form will be submitted electronically or by fax.
The Regulatory Issue Review Form may be used for jurisdictional issues or for interpretation of regulations. Submitters identify the issue and submit the completed form to AFDO. After submission, the form will be referred to the AFDO Laws & Regulations Committee for deliberation or sent to an appropriate body for consideration.
The new form provides an opportunity for AFDO associate members to have issues discussed and resolved in a timely and uniform manner. AFDO will post the form on the organization's website. The Food Marketing Institute will also post the document on its website and will promote the form to its members.
About AFDO
The Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO), established in 1896, successfully fosters uniformity in the adoption and enforcement of science-based laws, rules and regulations regarding food, drugs, medical devices, cosmetics and product safety by either drafting regulatory rules or commenting on government proposals. By developing a broad base of support for new approaches, AFDO has become a recognized voice in determining the rules and shape of the regulatory playing field of the future. The consensus that AFDO develops is key to advancing uniform laws, regulations, and guidelines that result in more efficient regulation and less confusion among industry in the marketplace. AFDO develops support for its positions by interfacing with high-level regulatory officials, industry representatives, trade associations, and consumer organizations. This effort continues to have a significant impact on regulations at the federal, state and local level. For more information, visit http://www.afdo.org.
