Athena Software and Sinapse Partner to Implement Penelope Case Management Solution for Medicare Local Organizations in Australia
Waterloo, ON (PRWEB) December 27, 2013 -- Australian consulting firm Sinapse and Waterloo, Ont. software company Athena Software have begun implementing Athena's Penelope case management software application at Medicare Local organizations across Australia.
Medicare Locals form the Australian Medicare Local Alliance, a group whose grassroots work helps to promote preventive health care in order to help create a more cost-effective healthcare system.
Sinapse is a partner of Athena Software and provides comprehensive implementation services to organizations using Penelope in Australia and New Zealand.
Sinapse recently completed a successful implementation of Penelope with Western Sydney Medicare Local (WSML), the third-largest Medicare Local in Australia and a leading integrated primary health care provider.
Outcomes of Sinapse's implementation of WSML's Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS), Closing the Gap and SHAPE programs included taking the SHAPE program fully online and paper-less with Penelope, automating the complex calculations within SHAPE assessment tools, enabling mobile entering of notes in Penelope via smartphone and tablet and configuring mandatory reporting to DOHA and other government agencies from within Penelope.
Sinapse also implements the Partners in Recovery (PIR) program for Medicare Local organizations using Penelope's highly-configurable and secure cloud-based software.
"Adopting a structured implementation approach, starting with process mapping and data gathering workshops through face-to-face user acceptance testing and end-user training has helped Medicare Locals understand the capabilities of software leverage and the full benefits of Penelope," said Andrew Tauro, senior project manager at Sinapse.
Representatives of both Sinapse and Athena recently showcased Penelope for Medicare Local organizations at the National Primary Health Care Conference in Queensland's Gold Coast in November.
Hosted by the Australian Medicare Local Alliance, the conference featured a joint Sinapse and Athena booth where attendees received demonstrations of Penelope from a Sinapse team featuring Tauro, senior Penelope solution architect John Reilly and Sinapse partner Noel Thurlow, along with Athena Software business development engineer Alan Golding.
