Atlanta Family Wins Free IVF from RBA at Cade Foundation Fundraiser Supporting Infertile Families
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 23, 2014 -- Local reproductive biology practice RBA and the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation (Cade Foundation) partnered to host a festive wine tasting (FertilivineTM) to raise money and awareness for individuals struggling with infertility. According to Dr Camille Hammond, CEO of the Cade Foundation, “We were thrilled to hold an education symposium (in 2013) and a FertilivineTM on Saturday to support Atlanta families with infertility. Cade Foundation hopes to grow a community of support for Georgia families.”
The event, which included a sommelier navigating wine tasting, a silent auction and a raffle for a free IVF, took place on Saturday, March 17, 2014 at Vino Venue in Dunwoody. Guests included members of the community, patients of RBA, and doctors and staff from RBA and the Cade Foundation. The most exciting moment of the event was the announcement of the winner of a free round of IVF treatment, donated by Reproductive Biology Associates. Atlanta local Katrina Swenson was the lucky winner, and shared “There is no word to explain my happiness! I am overwhelmed with joy. I am so lucky that I will be working with (RBA physician) Dr. Straub; he is the most amazing doctor I have ever known. The whole thing is just a such a surprise.”
Dr Andrew Toledo of RBA shared, “The FertilivineTM event was a huge success and RBA was honored to be partnered with the Cade Foundation for this very important function. Events like FertilivineTM will make it possible for more couples to financially afford infertility treatment. RBA looks forward to participating in more of these fundraising opportunities.”
The event raised almost $20,000 and proceeds will support a Cade Foundation grant targeting families in Georgia receiving care at RBA.
About the Tinina Q. Cade Foundation
The Tinina Q Cade Foundation (Cade Foundation) is a 501c3 tax exempt non profit organization that was started in 2005 to provide information support and financial assistance to help needy infertile families overcome infertility. The Foundation was named after founders’ (Drs Jason and Camille Hammond) mother, Dr Tinina Cade. Dr Cade carried and delivered the couples triplets at 55 years old, making her the oldest woman to deliver triplets at that point. The Hammonds started the Cade Foundation to both share information about infertility and provide funding for fertility treatment and adoption. To date, the Cade Foundation has hosted hundreds of outreach events throughout the US and provided 43 families (nationally, including 2 from Georgia) with financial support for adoption and fertility treatment. There are currently 33 Cade Foundation babies.
