Atlanta’s Maloney Center for Facial Plastic Surgery Brings the “Maloney No Makeup Monday Challenge” to Atlanta
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 17, 2015 -- The staff of Atlanta’s Maloney Center, one of the premier centers in the Southeast for Facial Plastic Surgery, and home to award-winning surgeon Brian Maloney, M.D., F.A.C.S., formulated the challenge to celebrate their commitment to empower people to communicate who they are with confidence.
“We enjoyed the Today Show’s feature ‘Love Your Selfie’ and thought that it communicated a great message,” explained Angela, one of the practice’s surgical coordinators. “The heart of what we do really isn’t about makeup or surface beauty. It’s more. It’s our privilege to help people overcome issues or make improvements in areas that hamper their self-esteem or self-confidence.”
“Our favorite stories are those in which patients share how much their surgery or procedures have changed their lives for the better,” added Jessica, the front office coordinator. “It’s really a gift people give to themselves,” added Dana, a medical assistant. “When patients feel beautiful and confident, the protective walls come down, and they are free to share who they really are.” “It’s really satisfying to make a difference in someone’s life that way,” agreed Jen, the practice’s other surgical coordinator.
Indeed, Dr. Maloney himself says that the reason he chose to specialize in facial plastics was the opportunity to establish trusting, long-term relationships with his patients and help them achieve their goals of looking on the outside how they feel on the inside. Today, several of Dr. Maloney’s long-time patients periodically travel to Atlanta from out of town just to have lunch with him and catch up.
Why Choose Prissy Tomboy as the Beneficiary?
The Maloney Center staff chose Atlanta’s own Prissy Tomboy Foundation to benefit from the challenge because they felt their message aligned with Prissy Tomboy’s mission. “We wanted to support a local organization that educates and empowers young women to live confident, healthy lifestyles,” explained Deb Hull, The Maloney Center’s Marketing Director. “Prissy Tomboy brings the same message of empowerment. They help girls build self-esteem and pride through their mentoring and sports programs,” she explained. Prissy Tomboy was founded by Tracey Pearson and brings its message via Sports Clinics, Adventure Challenges, A Female Athlete Speaker’s Series, Prissy Tomboy Clubs and Prissy Tomboy Ambassadors.
How the Challenge Works
The #MaloneyNoMakeupChallenge is easy. Each Monday, The Maloney Center staff snaps a picture, without makeup, and posts it in the practice’s social media and tags/challenges other friends and business associates. The tagged parties must post their own photos (sans makeup) with the hashtag #maloneynomakeupchallenge and tag three others to take the challenge. If the tagged/challenged individual or office elects not to post a picture, they are asked to make a donation to the Prissy Tomboy Foundation and still tag three additional parties. Of course, even the individuals/offices who participate are invited to donate to Prissy Tomboy.
The challenge will culminate in The Maloney Center’s Spring Charity Day event on April 23rd, which will benefit Prissy Tomboy. Donations to the Prissy Tomboy Foundation may be made here: http://content.prissytomboy.com/view/content/MT2kP
