Atlanta Startup Battle Launches Quarterly $100,000 Competition
ATLANTA, GA (PRWEB) August 31, 2016 -- Atlanta Startup Battle will launch on October 27th, 2016 at 6pm, the first of a quarterly competition. The mission of Atlanta Startup Battle is to identify the city’s top early stage technology startups and invest in their continued success. Atlanta Startup Battle will provide Atlanta’s top technology startups a structured way of accessing mentoring and active investors. Five investor judges will judge each event. Judges will be active early stage investors from venture capital firms and will always include two investors from outside of Atlanta.
Applications for the first Atlanta Startup Battle will be open from September 1st through September 22nd, 2016. During this 3-week period, teams can apply by visiting the Atlanta Startup Battle website. Following the application period, the Top 10 teams selected will participate in a full day of mentoring on October 22nd, 2016. The mentoring day will include sessions on go-to-market, business development, technology, user experience design, fundraising, and pitch preparation. The mentoring sessions will be facilitated by active technology entrepreneurs that have launched their businesses, raised capital, and are scaling. After the all day mentoring sessions, the Top 10 teams will battle for the opportunity to make it into the Top 5 teams who will present live on October 27th, 2016 at 6pm in front of the five investor judges and Atlanta’s technology eco-system.

Atlanta Startup Battle will be hosted inside TechSquare Labs, in Midtown’s Atlanta’s Technology Square, near the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) campus. TechSquare Labs was founded by serial technology entrepreneurs Paul Judge and Allen Nance. The first Atlanta Startup Battle will be judged by three active Atlanta venture investors and two investors from San Francisco, California. Judges are: Mark Buffington,BIP Capital; Kirby Harris, Base Ventures; Michelle Jarrad,GRA Venture Fund; Sig Mosely, Mosely Ventures; and Michael Neril, Spider Capital. The battle will be hosted by TechSquare Labs co-founder and investor Allen Nance. These investors actively manage over $200 million of early stage technology investable capital and their current portfolios include over 100 companies.

$400,000 per year will be invested into the 4 most promising technology startups by a collection of active early stage venture investors. The Top 10 teams will receive access to TechSquare Labs for one year as they continue to build and refine their businesses. Each quarter, the top 5 teams will battle in front of the Atlanta technology community, with the winning team winning more than a $100,000 investment, they will win access to the judges as mentors and advisors.

Atlanta Startup Battle is a $100,000 quarterly technology startup event hosted by TechSquare Labs.
