Atlantix Global Certified as an R2:2013 Electronics Recycler
Norcross, GA (PRWEB) April 22, 2014 -- Atlantix Global Systems announced today—Earth Day—its certification as an R2:2013 electronics recycler. The new R2 Standard includes heightened requirements for electronics recyclers such as tighter export regulations, detailed downstream material tracking and a stricter focus on data security and destruction. The R2:2013 certification is a guarantee that all computers and electronics that enter the Atlantix Global Technology Asset Recovery Services program will be handled responsibly.

The R2 standard was originally developed in 2008 through a joint process convened by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and involving electronics recyclers and refurbishers, manufacturers, retailers, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders. The R2 Standard focuses on the performance of electronics recyclers in the areas of:
• Environmental and public health
• Employee health and safety
• Security (data and facility)
• The whole of the recycling process and “chain of custody” of materials through final equipment disposition
