Atrion Partners with Local High School to Develop Young Technology Leaders
Warwick, Rhode Island (PRWEB) February 29, 2016 -- As a company committed to closing the IT talent gap, Atrion has committed to “adopting” the Academy for Career Exploration (ACE http://www.aceprovidence.org/), a Rhode-Island based high school focused on developing technology talent. Atrion and ACE struck up a fast friendship with the common purpose of improving the educational experience while providing concrete career pathways towards growing advancing economies. By leveraging Atrion’s resources, expertise and experience, ACE will be able to accelerate its vision to become one of Rhode Island’s top performing schools.
“The Academy for Career Exploration provides a full college prep curriculum that integrates technology, design and IT fundamentals,” said Dr. Mario Cirillo, Head of School. “Our goal is to provide our students with the technology, academic and critical thinking skills they need to give them a competitive advantage.”
ACE shares in Atrion’s desire to inspire, engage, educate and employ the next generation of technology leaders. As such, the IT services firm has decided to team with the public charter high school this year. As a result of the partnership, Atrion will help ACE achieve new levels of success when it comes to program implementation, curriculum development and STEAM education, as well as ensure that the school’s infrastructure is capable of supporting the academy’s areas of focus moving forward.
In the coming year, Atrion will bring its engineers and technology leaders into the school to provide expertise around technical vocations, as well as pinpoint ways to expand the impact of the school within the community.

On Wednesday, March 30, ACE will team with Atrion to hold its first-ever fund-raiser, “Academy for Career Exploration: Invest in Your Next Generation of Leaders.” Taking place at the Providence Public Library from 3 to 6:30 pm, the event will include a chance for community members to learn more about the ACE mission and student success, enjoy a panel discussion by community luminaires, and explore the promise of 21st Century education models. At 7 pm, guests can enjoy a screening of “Most Likely to Succeed,” an award-winning film about the history and status of the current educational model.
“The event, which will highlight the acclaimed documentary ‘Most Likely to Succeed,’ will focus on ways to build collaborative partnerships and drive innovation in education in support of a competitive work force strategy in Rhode Island,” said Cirillo. “The program will help raise funds for the Academy for Career Exploration's Internship and Work Readiness program.”
