Attend Fork Union Military Academy in the Fall of 2015 on Full Scholarship
Fork Union, VA (PRWEB) January 14, 2015 -- Would you like to attend Fork Union Military Academy on full scholarship? You need to act quickly because an important application deadline is coming this week. Students who will enter grade 9 or 10 in the fall of 2015 and are first time applicants to the fall program are eligible to compete for Fork Union Military Academy’s Board of Trustee Scholarship, but the application deadline for this prestigious full scholarship is this Saturday, January 17, 2015.
Fork Union Military Academy has received a great deal of national attention in recent days because of the success of student-athletes such as quarterback Cardale Jones and wide receiver Mike Thomas at Ohio State University who helped their team win the National Championship in college football this week. Both of them prepared for college by attending Fork Union. The school offers a strong college prep program for about 450-500 students each year, not just elite student-athletes. Affordability is always a key factor for families looking at boarding college prep schools, and Fork Union works hard to provide opportunities to as many students as possible. The school utilizes need based financial aid and access scholarship funds to help many young men to enroll in their college prep program. Greater than forty percent of their students receive financial aid of some kind.
The Board of Trustee Scholarship is unique in that is it competitive and completely need blind. This means that applicants for this scholarship do not need to fill out a financial aid application. The finalists are selected based on the strength of their scholarship and admission applications. Finalists are then invited to campus for an interview with our scholarship committee before the final award is announced.
Fork Union does get a lot of press coverage for the outstanding athletes it produces. For example, more than a dozen active NFL players are Fork Union alumni. But Fork Union is so much more than a training ground for football players, and it produces as many high-performing scholars as it does top athletes. In a recent graduating class, approximately twenty-five percent of the graduating seniors received full academic scholarships to college, in addition to the students who received athletic scholarships. Founded in 1898, Fork Union Military Academy is a one-of-a-kind high school experience, where students attend classes in the unique “One Subject Plan” format, which has successfully prepared students for college and beyond for more than sixty years. The schools is guided by the core values of respect, integrity, faith, character and discipline each day in a true military-style program where leadership and character development are a primary focus of daily life.
