Attorney and Mediator Jerry Scowcroft Announces Membership in Mediation.com
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 13, 2014 -- With more than three decades of experience as both an attorney and a mediator, Jerry Scowcroft has established himself as one of the few legal and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) professionals willing to take on unique and unusual challenges. In an effort to expand and establish his online presence, Mr. Scowcroft has announced his membership in the online mediation network, Mediation.com.
“I take the term solo practitioner very seriously,” said Mr. Scowcroft of the move. “When you contact my firm, you don’t get referred to some junior attorney learning the ropes – you get me. It’s my name on the door, and I believe that the only way I can guarantee my clients get the sort of legal and mediation service that I can offer is to work for them directly. That’s allowed me to have one of the most diverse backgrounds of any ADR professional in Seattle – because I remain on the front lines of my practice.”
Mr. Scowcroft, who established his firm in 2000, specializes in a diverse range of estate law, including wills, trusts, and probate proceedings, as well as pension benefits, guardianships, business formation and planning, tax planning, maritime law, appellate law, and insurance defense. He’s widely published as a writer on various subjects related to his areas of practice and has written new chapters on taxation and military pensions for the most recent edition of the Washington State Bar Association Family Law Deskbook. He has also taught law school courses at the University Of Washington School Of Law and for several years conducted a continuing education program for the University of Washington Law School in maritime law and insurance.
In addition to his JD from the Duke University School of Law, Mr. Scowcroft also earned an LL.M in Taxation from University of Washington School of Law. He has earned an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is licensed to practice law in the State of Washington and New York.
