Sacramento, CA (PRWEB) May 02, 2014 -- Last week, Consul Carlos González Gutiérrez announced that attorney Eric Ratinoff will serve as "Abogado Consultor" for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Government of Mexico within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento. As a consulting attorney, Eric will provide legal counsel to the Consulate General of Mexico, as well as advice and representation for Mexican citizens who have been injured while abroad in the United States.
The Consulate General of Mexico provides legal protection for Mexican citizens who travel and reside in the United States, a population that is vulnerable to abuse, fraud, threats, retaliation, and discrimination. Seldom do they report abuses to authorities or seek assistance.
To better serve this community, the Consulates of Mexico in the United States draw upon the expertise of local professionals to provide specialized legal advice and representation to both the consulates and the Mexican community in the U.S.
In a small ceremony held at Kershaw, Cutter & Ratinoff, LLP, Consul González Gutiérrez appointed Personal Injury Attorney Eric Ratinoff as “Abogado Consultor,” with a diploma from Mexico’s Foreign Secretary, signed by the Undersecretary for North America.
“Today, I am very happy to announce that our friend, Eric Ratinoff, has been appointed 'Abogado Consultor' of the Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento,” said Consul González Gutiérrez. “As you all know Eric is an extraordinary attorney who is very committed with the community and with a very strong empathy towards the Latino and especially towards the Mexican diaspora.”
Eric has been named a Northern California “Super Lawyer” and has been AV Rated by Martindale-Hubbell for multiple years. Former president of Sierra Forever Families and Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association (CCTLA), he now serves on the Board of Directors for the California Brain Injury Association (BIACAL) and Consumer Attorneys of California (CAOC). He is also an active member of Cien Amigos, a coalition of community leaders working toward the mutual prosperity of both California and Mexico. He is honored to serve the Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento, and looks forward to providing his expertise to the Mexican community in California.
