Attorney John D. Osinga Marks 3 Major Milestones in His Legal Career
Brookfield, WI (PRWEB) January 19, 2017 -- John D. Osinga, founder of Osinga Law Offices, S.C., will reach an unusual professional trifecta in 2017. He has been an attorney for 40 years, in private practice for 30 years and operated his own law office for 20 years. “I think these three milestones illustrate the consistency and commitment I provide to my clients,” said Osinga. “It also reflects my enjoyment of practicing law and representing people from a variety of backgrounds.”
Prior to entering private practice, Osinga served in the public sector as a three-term district attorney and a county legal counsel. Since leaving the public sector thirty years ago, he has focused on representing individuals, families and businesses in his private practice. Osinga prides himself in helping his clients steer clear of future problems by doing advance estate, asset protection and retirement risk planning.
When attorney Osinga was asked which professionals in the past 40 years the public was most critical of but whom he was most impressed with, he stated “You might expect me to say lawyers but it’s not. When I was a prosecutor I think it was the professional law enforcement officers I worked with. After I left the public sector it became public school teachers, who face a classroom of students every day.”
To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the opening of his office, Osinga, who has experience advising county government on public record issues, plans to include Wisconsin open records law issues as a new area of practice. “Dysfunctional government often occurs in secrecy and out of the view of the public,” added Osinga. “Transparency remains the key to responsive government.” Additionally, Osinga plans to show his appreciation for current and retired law enforcement officers and teachers by giving them a 20% reduction on his estate planning legal fees during his office’s 20th anniversary year.
