Pasadena, CA (PRWEB) December 16, 2013 -- Ticket Down announces they have slashed pricing on tickets for the BCS Championship Game which will feature the Florida State Seminoles vs. the Auburn Tigers. For the first time since 2001, the Florida State Seminoles will have a chance to compete for the BCS National Championship. In that season, they were attempting to repeat as champions after beating Virginia Tech, but struggled to get anything going and lost 13-2 to Oklahoma. Their opponents in the BCS title game this season will be the Auburn Tigers, who will be looking to win their second BCS Championship, with their first coming in 2011 against Oregon.
The game will be contested at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif. That facility is one of the most prestigious in sports and will be hosting the BCS Championship for the third time since the game was instituted in 1999. In the previous title games held here, Miami (FL) and Alabama were victorious, so Florida State will be looking to be the first ACC representative to win the national title here and Auburn will be looking to become the second winner from the SEC.
The Seminoles finished the 2013-14 season with a perfect 13-0 record including 8-0 in the ACC. While the Alabama Crimson Tide was at the top of the rankings through most of the season, Florida State was consistent from game one through game 13. They easily passed through most opponents with 14 points being their closest margin against Pittsburgh. The Seminoles played four teams that were ranked at the time of their meeting and dispatched them (Maryland, Clemson, Miami (FL) and Duke) by an average of more than 41 points. They were led by the winner of the 2013 Heisman Trophy, Jameis Winston. Winston, the red-shirt freshman finished the season with 3,820 passing yards with 38 touchdowns and another four touchdowns on the ground, while only throwing 10 interceptions.
Auburn finished the 2013-14 season with a 12-1 record, including a 7-1 mark in the SEC. Their lone loss of the season came against LSU 35-21, but they finished the season with massive wins against Texas A&M (45-41), Georgia (43-38), Alabama (34-28) and Missouri (59-42), setting up their chance to play for the national title. For a team that went 3-9 a year ago and have a new coach this season in Gus Malzahn. The Tigers have been led this season by their quarterback Nick Marshall, who is a double-threat, throwing for 1,759 yards and 12 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,023 yards and 11 scores. They also have one of the best running backs in college football in Tre Mason, who rushed for 1,621 yards and 22 touchdowns this season.
Fans of either team will surely want to be in attendance at the Rose Bowl when this game takes place on January 6, 2014. Tickets for the game are hot commodities, but fans that are eager to watch their alma mater compete shouldn't worry about price. Live up the action in style in one of the many luxury suites or even consider a travel package that includes airfare, tickets and hotel accommodations.
