Audio-Digest Foundation Announces the Release of Ophthalmology Volume 51, Issue 21: IOL Strategies
Glendale, CA (PRWEB) January 27, 2014 -- Audio-Digest Foundation Announces the Release of Ophthalmology Volume 51, Issue 21: IOL Strategies.
The goal of this program is to improve the management of patients who are dissatisfied with multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) and the insertion of secondary posterior chamber IOLs. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Educate patients about the limitations of multifocal IOLs and set reasonable expectations for outcomes.
2. Identify the cause of patients’ complaints about multifocal IOLs and manage them appropriately.
3. Reopen the capsular bag before insertion of a secondary IOL.
4. Perform iris or scleral suturing techniques during insertion of a secondary IOL.
5. Use the “glued IOL” technique if appropriate for patients who have failed other procedures.
The original programs were presented by Roger F. Steinert, MD, Irving H. Leopold Professor and Chair of Ophthalmology; Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology; Professor of Biomedical Engineering; Director, Gavin Herbert Eye Institute, University of California, Irvine.
