Austin Sports Medicine Practice Nominated for Department of Defense’s Top Employer Award
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) July 14, 2015 -- Medicine in Motion is proud to announce that it has been nominated for the 2015 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award (commonly referred to as the “Freedom Award”) by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense (DoD) office. Only about 200 Texas employers of Guard and Reserve employees have received the nomination this year.
“We are honored to be included in such prestigious company,” said Dr. Martha Pyron, Austin sports medicine doctor and owner of Medicine in Motion. “The real honor, of course, belongs to the men and women in our armed forces who make the sacrifice to serve and protect our country. Supporting these heroes in the workplace is the least we can do.”
The Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the DoD to employers for their support of National Guard and Reserve members. On behalf of the Secretary of Defense, ESGR runs the annual award program, which has presented the honor to 205 employers since 1996. Texas nominees are invited to an Employer Recognition Luncheon, which is scheduled for Friday, July 17th at 11:30am at the Holiday Inn Austin Midtown Hotel.
In a recent national press release, ESGR National Chair Paul E. Mock characterized the support of this year’s Freedom Award nominees by saying, “These employers are serving our military and our Nation proudly through their support of our citizen warriors. They are helping to keep America strong, and we are grateful for the important role they play in maintaining the wellbeing of our Guard and Reserve members and families.”
