Author analyzes ‘Prophetic Figures of the Old Testament’
HARARE, Zimbabwe (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- In his new book “Prophetic Figures of the Old Testament” (published by AuthorHouse UK), author Nyamayabo Mashavakure presents an analysis of prophecy to discover its genesis by way of studying the Bible’s Old Testament.
Mashavakure’s new book considers, analyzes the idea of prophecy in terms of people, events, objects and places in whom and through which the phenomenon of prophecy seems to be fully expressed and represented in the Bible.
By centering his attention on the Old Testament, Mashavakure hopes to help readers understand the geographical, cultural and religious origins of the term “prophecy” and its applications to modern society, and mainly, modern faiths.
“Religion, in general, and biblical studies in particular, is an area that has always fascinated me from early in my schooling years,” Mashavakure says. “It tends to be everything that humanity wants to be, everything that humanity and its life can be. Nyamayabo Mashavakure has taught Bible knowledge and divinity at the high school level in Zimbabwe for many years. He has always enjoyed reading academic and related literature on biblical studies and religion in general, among other subject areas, throughout his educational and professional careers. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in Shona and religious studies, a bachelor’s degree with honors in religious studies, a graduate certificate in education and a postgraduate diploma in curriculum and arts education, all from the University of Zimbabwe. He also earned a master’s degree in theology from the University of Leeds in England.
