Author Jeanette M. Roscoe’s new book “Silent Inflictions” is the true story of one family's battle to overcome the tragedies of an abusive group home.
(PRWEB) December 21, 2016 -- Jeanette M. Roscoe has completed her new book “Silent Inflictions”: a hopeful, and at times heartbreaking, narrative of a mother’s quest as she searches for a light at the end of a dark tunnel for her sweet girl.
Jeanette was raised in New Smyrna Beach, Florida with sand under her feet. She has overcome great adversity in her life due to many years of painful experiences. Today, Jeanette is happily married to a fabulous man and has two beautiful children. She is now suburbanized and holds her family and household as her top priority. When she is not writing, Jeanette focuses on living her life to the fullest and learning from her past experiences. Jeanette’s debut book has been in the works for three years. Jeanette chose, after much contemplation, to focus on writing about the silent inflictions experienced by her eldest, disabled daughter. She is currently working on completing a trilogy based on her daughter’s struggles and current life and Jeanette's own story and how she overcame the obstacles of her past.
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Jeanette M. Roscoe’s new novel shares the human struggle of one family to find the care their child deserves.
“Silent Inflictions” is a true story of a mentally disabled child, Mariah. Diagnosed with PDD and other disabilities, Mariah struggles with non-verbal communication and has no advocate for her besides her family. From Mariah’s birth to the present, her mother, Jeanette, illustrates in detail the numerous obstacles faced by her daughter and her family in order to help Mariah live in a safe and healthy environment. Jeanette strives to navigate her daughter through the sea of medications, diagnoses, and initial placements in group homes to find the best living situation and way of life for Mariah despite all her daughter’s mental disabilities and abusive behaviors. Will Mariah be shoved away and forgotten by an abusive system? Can Jeanette and her family finally find hope and a life for Mariah?
