His interests in the art of illustration and desire to play a constructive role in the lives of young people inspired him to write this book. A father of three adult daughters, L.M. Haynes is an active member of St. Edward the Confessor Church, which is located in Syosset, N.Y. where L.M. Haynes and his wife reside.

Haynes shares, “Professor McDougal had been a bachelor his entire life. He lived with his three precious companions, Lily, Benji, and Karat, and they were his whole world. Lily and Benji were puggles, and Karat was a golden retriever. They were all very loving and playful dogs, but a bit mischievous.”
It is Christmas Eve in the tiny town of Coventry. Professor Malcolm McDougal and his three companions, Lily, Benji, and Karat, are about to embark on a wondrous adventure. Professor McDougal’s time machine will transport them back to the time of the first Christmas. Before the night is over, the three friends will return from their journey with a tiny gift that will restore the Professor’s faith in the miracle of Christmas.
