Author O.L. Shepp Launches Her Debut Book “Cooking for the Health of It”
Meeteetse, Wyoming (PRWEB) July 28, 2013 -- Author O.L. Shepp launches her debut book “Cooking for the Health of It,” a narrative nonfiction book of short stories, family recipes, western humor and healthy cooking,
“Cooking for the Health of It” provides readers with a fresh perspective to healthy cooking; healthy cooking and healthy living, cowboy style.
“It's just food. You've gotta eat it, doesn't have to taste good," Pops declares as he heaps Cowboy Beans on each plate around the campfire.
Food is our fuel and everyone is busy, even cowboys. O.L. Shepp writes of knowing Pops in his later years and when his days of punching cattle were numbered. His concept of food was drastic and his ideals, the most basic of cowboy cooking.
“Cooking for the Health of It,” is based on O.L. Shepp’s grandmother’s, great-grandmother’s, and great-great grandmother’s recipes and stories as they cooked for sheepherders and cowboys alike.
"Cooking for the Health of It" is bringing knowledge of simple and complete nourishment. The nourishment that your Grandparents knew. Simple nourishment a generation ago was not necessarily a choice.
Simple nourishment was all that was available to them. Our Grandparents did not have the options of quick prepared meals, they had to plan and prepare for each meal weeks in advance.
How families cooked and ate generations ago is explored in “Cooking for the Health of It.”
Our parents were never taught how food affects their bodies, they were taught to clean their plates and to never throw food out.
Up and coming author, O.L. Shepp strives to penetrate the publishing world with this informative, how-to cookbook. The various publishing options for unveiling her manuscript are:
• Self-publishing, though extremely tempting is not the means for launching O.L. Shepp’s career as a story-teller. Though, this option may generate income and increase sales. O.L. knows that the marketing game will take quality time away from her writing time.
• Traditional publishing remains O.L. Shepp’s choice as a writer. Traditional Publishing remains all writers’ primary ambition. Though, requiring more input and involvement on the writer’s part in marketing, today. Traditional Publishing is as strong an influence on any writing career as ever.
• Hybrid publishing, the combination of Traditional and self-publishing.
Author O.L. Shepp chooses traditional publishing as the best route to launch her debut book “Cooking for the Health of It,” because the writer must nurture the publishing of each work of fiction and nonfiction as a stepping stone of his or her career.
O.L. Shepp’s writing and her stories carry her voice as the story teller, thus building for herself a launch-pad as a writer. The stories remain the voice, the hub, the reason for the writing. O.L. Shepp creates her stories for her readers to enjoy and to share. Therefore, she is choosing to write for the stories' sake, as she has in her Facebook video here.
O.L. Shepp chooses to build an audience not solely for “Cooking for the Health of It,” but also for her future literary works using the traditional publishing method.
