Author Releases Epic Fantasy Adventure to Give Daughter More Realistic Female Role Model
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- While most fairytales and coming-of-age fantasy sagas focus on damsels in distress or supernatural, magical protagonists, maverick author Scot Harris’ debut novel does not. Instead, “The Echo of the Sun” provides young readers with an everyday heroine to whom they can relate and from whom they can learn valuable lessons about their own abilities and strengths.
The story centers on 13-year-old Veronica Moffet, whose biggest concern in life is middle school drama – until she comes home from school one day to find a mysterious man sitting on her living room sofa. The man reveals to Veronica that she and her parents are banished royalty from an alternate world called Enos, and that she must return to Enos to save it from an impending darkness. She must find a long-lost enchanted stone that echoes the power of the sun and fuels the magical powers of Enos’s Aechizan people during the nighttime.
But Veronica knows nothing about Enos and has no understanding of Aechizan magic. Neither a doe-eyed princess nor a wand-wielding witch, she is just your average girl. With only her ordinary human powers, does Veronica have what it takes to accomplish the extraordinary feat of saving an entire world? Or will she get lost in that world and fall to its powerful forces?
“I wanted to write a story for my daughter where the ‘princess’ wasn’t just waiting for a prince to rescue her, but was the one doing the rescuing, using very real abilities and powers our children actually possess,” says Harris
“The Echo of the Sun” is available for sale online at Amazon.com and other channels.
