Author Richard Johnston Starts New Marketing Campaign for 2009 Novel
SAN RAMON, Calif. (PRWEB) June 05, 2015 -- Author Richard Johnston is launching a new marketing campaign for his 2009 novel, “The Circle Broken” (published by Trafford Publishing). His story takes readers to 17th century Canada, where a Wendat First Nations maiden girl forever changes the life of a French boy who is on his first mission for explorer Robert Cavelier de La Salle.
A 17-year-old French peasant who has signed on for La Salle’s expedition to find the mouth of the Mississippi River has a chance encounter with a Wendat girl. The encounter changes the course of the peasant boy’s life, leading to additional encounters and his first sexual experience. Torn between his desire for the maiden girl and his desire for adventure with La Salle, the boy explores the relationship until La Salle’s voyage forces the two lovers apart.
Upon returning from the voyage, the peasant boy learns that his beloved’s tribe has been attacked and massacred by the Iroquois. Refusing to believe that his headstrong maiden is dead, the boy begins a search for her, knowing that he can never give up his quest to find the girl who stole his heart.
“The Circle Broken” presents readers with a historically accurate depiction of 17th century North America during a clash of civilizations. Johnston hopes his work familiarizes readers with the concept that love can triumph over religious bigotry.
