Author Timm Boyle Honors 50th Anniversary of Final Mister Ed Episode Airing With Release of Novel About Talking Horse

Honoring the memory of the show, Kenosha, Wis.-based author Timm Boyle has published a new soft science fiction novel titled Bamboo Harvester: An Extraordinary Horse’s Quest to Save a Civilization – Volume 1.

“I loved watching Mister Ed as a kid, and I would find myself wondering what it would be like if animals – including my pet dog – really could talk,” Boyle said. “A couple years ago I noticed that we were approaching the 50th anniversary of the last episode in the series. I decided to write a novel about a talking horse from a solar system five light years away who comes to Earth with the intent of helping his owners save their doomed civilization, but who gets sidetracked upon his arrival with the desire to become a Hollywood star.”
Wrapping itself in the themes of bravery, sacrifice and redemption, this imaginative and heartwarming novel tells the story of an alien civilization facing extermination, the courageous efforts of a few determined souls seeking to save future generations, the blind luck of a down-and-out Hollywood producer and a talking horse who bridges the gaps between them all.
