Auto Remanufacturing Facility to Locate in Jasper County
Ridgeland, SC (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- New River Auto Mall’s President and CEO Warner Peacock has announced that he will create 25 new jobs and invest more than $4 million in Jasper County with the development of the New River Auto Mall Remanufacturing Center, a state-of-the-art facility utilizing a high-tech aluminum remanufacturing process and providing remanufacturing, reconditioning and new vehicle pre-delivery inspection operations.
Opening in January 2014 at 1667 N. Okatie Highway in Ridgeland, South Carolina, the facility will serve as the first provider of this new technology in a large geographic area, including the S.C. Lowcountry and coastal Georgia.
"We're thrilled to be expanding the New River Auto Mall again with the development of this new facility," said Mr. Peacock. "We're excited for the expansion, and we're glad to bring even more jobs to this region."
The remanufacturing center will be developed at an existing 15-acre industrial site with a 35,000 SF industrial building. Annual payroll for the project is expected to exceed $1.7 million.

According to Jasper County Chamber of Commerce Chairman Marty Sauls, the remanufacturing center will benefit the area beyond the initial jobs created.
“This project involves job creation, renovation of an existing industrial building, additional capital investment and new revenue in the county, and indirect jobs and revenue for those involved in the retail and service operations in the surrounding area,” said Sauls, who also serves on Jasper County Council. “In short, the remanufacturing center is an important economic development engine in improving quality of life and in stimulating our local economy.”
The New River Auto Mall Remanufacturing Center will offer an extensive menu of services in an environment that meets and, in some instances, exceeds industry standards.
“We believe that the type of high-end remanufacturing process offered by the New River Auto Mall Manufacturing Center will not only better serve the people of Jasper and surrounding counties, it will attract consumers from a large geographic area,” said Phil Richardson, SouthernCarolina Alliance’s Economic Development Director in Jasper County. “I believe the proximity to I-95 played a role in Mr. Peacock’s choice of this Jasper County location, which will also provide easy access to attract consumers from South Carolina, Georgia and beyond. It’s also a testament to the talent of the workforce here in Jasper County.”
Richardson added that all of the leading economic development allies in the region fully support the expansion of New River Auto Mall, including Jasper County Council, Palmetto Electric Cooperative, SouthernCarolina Regional Development Alliance, and the Lowcountry Workforce Investment Board.
“This announcement is more than an expansion for New River Auto Mall,” said Jasper County Council Vice-Chairwoman Barbara B. Clark, “it brings new technology and manufacturing to Jasper County. The New River Auto Mall is a group of 12 dealerships featuring 16 franchises, including Audi, Chrysler, Dodge, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Porsche, Ram, Subaru, and Volkswagen.
