Automotive Engineering Is Broached on "In America" with James Earl Jones
(PRWEB) March 04, 2015 -- James Earl Jones is hosting a new segment of the popular show, "In America". The new installment will focus on the multi-disciplined field of automotive engineering and how now, more so than ever, automotive engineers are calling upon electrical and mechanical engineering to design new concept vehicles and improve current automobile technology.
As the world strives to reduce automotive emissions and loosen the grip petroleum has on everyday life, more and more viewers may be pioneers in driving hybrids or electric cars. Alternative fuels are being developed and innovative ways to efficiently use already existing ones are being explored. These include vehicles that run on biodiesel fuels, ethanol, propane, liquified natural gas, hydrogen fuel cells, and battery technology. Some vehicles are still in the concept stages while others are already being tested on car manufacturers' automotive proving grounds while others are being pioneered and evaluated in the field by government vehicles.
Not all automotive engineers however are engaged with the future. A significant number are looking into and working on ways to remedy errors and omissions that have led to unfortunate incidents that have peppered the news and engendered a recurring rash of recalls. The upcoming program will explore these topics, and the new and exciting road that lies ahead.
"In America" is neither affiliated nor produced by APT or PBS. It is produced independently and distributed to Public Television stations across America, to be televised in accordance with their scheduling needs.
