Auxiliary Propulsion System for Large Commercial Trucks Invented by InventHelp Client (AAT-1935)
PITTSBURGH, PA (PRWEB) December 27, 2016 -- Compared to automobiles and light-duty trucks, large commercial tractor trailers get relatively poor fuel economy. Additionally, these trucks require diesel fuel, which is expensive and causes harmful pollution.
A truck driver from Atlanta, Ga., has invented INGRAM INVENTION, an auxiliary propulsion system for tractor trailers in an effort to improve the fuel economy for such vehicles. "I was inspired to invent this system because of my line of work," said the inventor. "I wanted to invent a way to get auxiliary power without having to use fuel or truck battery, while also reducing the use of fuel and truck batteries." The patent-pending INGRAM INVENTION assists with the initial acceleration of the truck, as well as helps maintain highway speeds.
It reduces wear and tear on the truck's motor while limiting harmful diesel exhaust pollution. It also assists with the braking of the trailer. The GRID setup (see drawing) could provide electrical power to warehouses, businesses and local power grids. Auxiliary propulsion system can work with other fuel-saving methods and also with hybrid and electric tractors.
INGRAM INVENTION would appeal to commercial trucking companies because it would help save money by reducing fuel consumption. It would also appeal to environmental activists as a means to reducing pollution causes by trucks, and warehouses and shipping yards, using the GRID setup to supply supplemental electricity for use in day-to-day operations, or it could be sold back to local power grids as a financial incentive.
The original design was submitted to the Atlanta office of InventHelp. It is currently available for licensing or sale to manufacturers or marketers.
