Avalaunch Media Announces New ‘Paws vs Claws’ Social Media Contest to Benefit The Humane Society and NEADS
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) July 01, 2013 -- Having recently released a popular 'Social MEowDIA' infographic featuring famous cats explaining social media to the layman, Avalaunch Media has come up with another viral graphic. The 'Social MEDogIA' sequel graphic features famous dogs as the mascot. Avalaunch is pleased to announce the ‘Paws vs Claws’ voting contest to decide once and for all which animal (cats or dogs) reigns. In addition, the firm is raising funds to benefit two partnering non-profit animal advocate organizations—The Humane Society and NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans.
Amassing tens of thousands of views, shares and comments in the social sphere, the quirky cat graphic from Avalaunch Media was an instant success. Noting this popularity, Avalaunch thought they would follow up with a dog version and a contest between the two graphics.
“People had a strong emotional response to the cat graphic,” says David Mink, one of the founders of Avalaunch Media. “The response was so amazing we decided to create a graphic for the dog lovers of the world. To make it fun, and in an effort to do some good, we put them up against each other in a contest.”
The contest is simple. Internet users will cast a vote toward the graphic they like best. They may also advocate for both animals by making monetary donations of $5, $50 or $500. The graphic with the most votes will get 2/3 of the total donations. The remaining 1/3 of donations will be awarded to the runner-ups. In the end, 100% of the money will be distributed to the two partnering organizations and, regardless of the winner, both cats and dogs will benefit.
If the dogs win, Avalaunch Media will donate the 2/3 of the proceeds to the National Education for Assistance Dog Services (NEADS) -- a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides independence to people who are deaf or have a disability through the use of canine assistance. If the cats win, 2/3 of the proceeds will go directly to The Humane Society, which among many things, supports local animal shelters, seeks to slow cat overpopulation, and outlaw cruelty to animals.
Many like-minded companies have joined in the effort, pitching in to support the animal welfare and rights cause by donating to the charity pot. The effort has already raised several thousand dollars.
