Avenidas Hosts Lifetimes of Achievement 2015 Event
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) May 15, 2015 -- Along with community partners the Palo Alto Weekly and Palo Alto Online, Avenidas is celebrating the Lifetimes of Achievement 2015 with a garden party from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, May 17. The community will be honoring Gib Myers, Ann DeBusk, Barbara Carlitz, Bob Harrington and Mary and Allan Seid for their contributions over the years.
Carlitz has served as chair or board member of six non-profits in the Palo Alto area, including the Association for Senior Day Health, Avenidas, Environmental Volunteers and more. DeBusk was founder and president of American Leadership Forum – Silicon Valley. Harrington led many important initiatives in Palo Alto, including critical storm drain improvements and flood protection. Myers began the Entrepreneurs Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to developing corporate citizenship and philanthropic efforts. The Seids founded Asian-Americans for Community Involvement, now the largest human services agency in Santa Clara County.
"This party is important to both recognize the contributions of some highly dedicated older adults, but also to help fund such crucial programs as transportation and social work services that Avenidas has been providing to Peninsula seniors for 46 years," says Avenidas President and CEO Amy Andonian. "I extend an invitation to the community to join us at this festive event."
The event is open to the public and will be held at 433 Melville Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94301. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased by calling Avenidas at 650-289-5445. Proceeds from the party will be used to help the programs offered by the non-profit agency Avenidas.
