Avenue International Freight Forwarder Set to Benefit from California Attempting to Work with Truckers on New Emissions Rules
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- According to TruckingInfo.com, California is attempting to work with truckers on some of the new emissions rules that have severely restricted trucking in California. In a news article at http://www.truckinginfo.com/news/story/2013/11/california-considers-easing-some-emissions-rules.aspx?utm_campaign=Headline-News-20131111&utm_source=Email&utm_medium=Enewsletter Evan Lockridge reports that the new Truck and Bus Regulations have required many fleets to begin retrofitting or replacing engines or trucks, which has put a major limit on the trucking ability in California. Currently, if a truck runs more than 1,000 miles in California annually, it is required to comply with these new regulations. However, if the new amendments pass, this maximum amount of miles will be increased to 5,000 miles annually.
There is also a “Good Faith Effort” extension planned for those who have taken initial steps to comply with the new regulations, but are awaiting the replacement parts or truck. These new amendments will not necessarily help with all truckers, but those who travel more than the previous 1,000 miles, but less than 5,000 miles annually, will receive a huge reprieve according to Joe Rajkovacz, director of governmental affairs and communications for the California Construction Trucking Association and its interstate conference, the Western Trucking Alliance, in an interview. These more reasonable restrictions will allow Avenue International to maintain fair and reasonable prices for their services.
