Avid Boxing Style Rock Concert Poster Collector Announces His Search for Original 1964 Rolling Stones New York City Carnegie Hall Concert Posters
San Francisco, California (PRWEB) March 05, 2016 -- Avid rock concert poster collector, Andrew Hawley from Vintage Rock Posters, announces his search for 1964 Rolling Stones New York City Carnegie Hall concert posters. This was the last concert of the first Stones U.S. tour that started on June 1st. According to Hawley, "It is hard to believe the Stones came to America over 50 years ago. The Stones arrived four months after the Beatles debut. Their reception in New York City is best described as pandemonium with throngs of screaming girls, police barricades and press conferences. Several members of the band had to hide in a closet after being chased by 70 young ladies into the hotel. From New York, they started a short 20 day tour with the tour culminating at the Carnegie Hall on June 20. The concert was presented by DJ Murray the K and promoted by Billy Fields and Jaymur Productions."
Hawley adds, "The boxing style 14 x 22 inch poster was printed by EJ Warner on thick cardboard. It has a bright yellow background with large bold lettering. There is a stock photo of the band on the bottom. The Stones played two shows that day. The audience was boisterous and rushed the stage. The first tour of the Rolling Stones had its hits and misses but overall was a successful launch of one of the most famous rock band in history."
