Gunther Kieser created the famous "medusa" image of Hendrix for this concert poster tour blank. According to Hawley, "The Kieser artwork is also known as the Hendrix with wired hair concert poster. Hendrix played nine German cities over twelve days. The tour started at the Musikhalle in Hamburg on January 11th. He next played the following cities—the Rheinhall in Dusseldorf (January 12), the Sporthalle in Cologne (January 13), the Halle Munsterland in Munster (January 14), the Deutsches Museum Kongresssaal in Munich (January 15), the Meistersingerhalle in Nuremburg (January 16), the Jahrhunderhalle in Frankfurt (January 17), and the Liederhalle in Stuttgart (January 19). The last German tour concert was on January 23rd at the Sportpalast in Berlin. People were hired to wheat paste the posters at bus shelters train stations, local drug stores and department stores in each city. Eire Apparent was the back-up band. Hendrix produced the band's first album and played the lead guitar. Eire Apparent was listed at the bottom of the poster just above the venue information strip. The Gunther Kieser poster credit is written in small letters along the middle edge of the poster on the right side.
