Avitus Group Encourages Business & Employee Community Involvement; Senior Level Staff Leads Way With Support of Rocky Mountain Hemophilia & Bleeding Disorders Association
Billings, Montana (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- According to the Rocky Mountain Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders Association, the average annual cost to treat a patient with hemophilia is $175,000. Hemophilia is an inherited, life-long condition with no cure. Scientists are actively engaged in finding a cure and improving treatment. The RMHBDA exists to help raise funds for patients suffering from bleeding disorders, deliver educational programming and send children with bleeding disorders to summer camp.
“Our chapter is one of 40 locations nationally participating in the walk. We serve Montana and Wyoming, where there are currently no disease-specific treatment centers. Bleeding disorders affect about 2% of the population. Those affected in our region often feel isolated and scared without access to help,” says Travis Bruyere, RMHBDA board member & Avitus Group Vice President of Sales. “RMHBDA strives to provide knowledgeable and caring support as well as financial assistance for those in need.”
Avitus Group is sponsoring the Montana Hemophilia Walk at Zoo Montana September 12th, 2015 via a financial donation. The company is also donating a live radio broadcast from Zoo Montana the day of the event. The idea is to raise awareness about bleeding disorders and help raise money for the association. Connoisseur media is set to broadcast live from Zoo Montana prior to the start of the walk at 10:00 a.m. and throughout the event. Registration for the 4th annual walk begins at 9:00 a.m. on September 12th at Zoo Montana and there is no cost to join the walk. Registration includes a 1 mile walk/celebration, games, a rock wall, prizes and complete access to Zoo Montana. Participants can also register online.
RMHBDA would like to see 250+ people walking and raise more than $15,000.
“Every step does make a difference in the lives of people affected by bleeding disorders, and we hope to see hundreds come out for the walk,” says Travis Bruyere, Avitus Group Vice President of Sales. “Although I have not been directly affected by hemophilia nor has anyone in my family, I’m honored to volunteer on the Rocky Mountain Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders Association board of directors to help families struggling with this disease.”
