Ethlie is ready to talk about her personal experiences with alcohol and drug addiction that ultimately led to her stay in state prison. Ethlie Ann Vare is best known as the writer and producer of hit TV shows CSI, Renegade and Silk Stalkings, and is often referred to as, “the ex-con who writes cop shows.” One of the original writers on the long-running series Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, Ethlie is also known for writing TV movies for SyFy Channel, Hallmark Channel and the controversial play These Women Will F**k You Up. Mackenzie Phillips, Treatment and Recovery Advocate at Pasadena Recovery Center, will be introducing Ethlie, and following the talk there will be an opportunity for the audience to ask questions.
"We are honored to have Ethlie as our featured guest for this month's speaker series. She is not only an incredible woman with a lot to say, but she is a long time friend. We hope her recovery experience can inspire many, " said Phillips.
Pasadena Recovery Center Speaker Series hosts amazing authors, entrepreneurs, celebrities, and experts to talk about their personal experiences with addiction and the way it has affected both themselves and the people around them.
Along with her accomplishments in writing and producing, Ethlie is known as a distinguished visiting lecturer for many prestigious schools and has hosted international online chats on women's issues through the US State Department in territories as diverse as Sierra Leone and Bangladesh.
