Award-Winning Wireless Broadband Operator, Wisper ISP, Partners with Telrad Networks for Major Expansion
Lod, Israel (PRWEB) January 22, 2015 -- Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative 4G wireless and telecom solutions, announced that Wisper ISP, one of the nation's largest Wireless Internet Service Providers, has signed a $2.3 million dollar Master Purchase Agreement. The partnership will allow Wisper to deploy LTE technology in the 2.5 and 3.65 GHz frequency bands in the Greater St. Louis and Southern Illinois areas.
A staggering 50% of customers inquiring about Wisper’s service could not be installed due to Non-Line-of-Sight (NLOS) issues. Also, about 70% of their service calls were due to 900 MHz interference or trying to make 2.4GHz achieve NLOS coverage. “Telrad is the answer to a five year search for a NLOS solution that is both reliable and has the capacity needed to keep up with present and future bandwidth demands,” said Wisper CEO, Nathan Stooke, “Telrad’s products effectively address these NLOS issues, which had hampered the company’s ability to grow organically in areas with heavy foliage.”
After beta testing several companies’ equipment, Wisper determined that Telrad’s Breeze COMPACT solution demonstrated the most dramatic improvement in network performance and connectivity because of its advanced antenna features, such as 4x4 MIMO and high sensitivity. “Wisper is arguably the most discerning of operators in the U.S., with a management focus on data measurement, quality of service and outcomes,” said Chris Daniels, General Manager of North America for Telrad. “Earning an agreement of this magnitude with one of the industry’s leading WISPs makes a statement about both Telrad as a team and Breeze COMPACT as a solution.” The product’s Software-Defined Radio platform will allow the company to scale its growth without a hardware replacement, and take advantage of LTE's expanding capabilities over time.
