AWARE for All: CISCRP’s Clinical Research Education Event Returning to Houston this May
Houston, TX (PRWEB) April 24, 2017 -- On Friday, May 12 the Houston community is invited to attend AWARE for All to learn about the clinical research process and obtain educational material about the research activity in Houston. The AWARE for All program is a free educational event produced by the Boston-based non-profit Center for Information and Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP). The event serves as a forum for open dialogue between patients, members of the public, and health and research professionals. AWARE for All – Houston will provide valuable information and education about the clinical research process and clinical research participation, as well as food, prizes, and complimentary health screenings. There will be an overview discussion in Spanish about clinical research, as well as Spanish language materials and onsite translators for assistance. And as a bonus, The Greater Gift Initiative will be donating one vaccine to one child in need on behalf of every event attendee.
This is the second AWARE for All event held in the Houston area since 2014. The AWARE for All program focuses on educating and empowering the public to make informed decisions about all healthcare treatment options available, including clinical research participation. Funding for this event is provided by CISCRP’s national AWARE for All sponsors EMD Serono, Inc., a subsidiary of Merck KGaA Darmstadt, Germany and the Lupus Research Alliance, host sponsors MD Anderson and the Windsor Village – Kingdom Builder's Center, as well as local sponsors Centex Studies, Inc., the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and Global Outreach Agency Publicis Health Communications Group and Langland.
