Axium Healthcare Pharmacy Launches New Oncology Management Program for MSHO Members
Lake Mary, Florida (PRWEB) February 12, 2015 -- The specialty pharmacy’s role in helping patients, practices and payers to more easily access, support and manage the latest specialty drug therapies is growing at an exponential pace. Axium Healthcare Pharmacy is an example of this fast-growing role, particularly in the oncology therapy space. Axium, a member of the Kroger Company’s family of pharmacies, as well as a corporate member of the Michigan Society of Hematology & Oncology (MSHO), has launched a new effort that immediately places one of the nation’s most innovative specialized oncology therapy programs into the hands of MSHO members.
At the heart of this effort is Axium’s OncologyVisions® program, which provides patients, practices and payers with a dedicated therapy management team with proven expertise in the latest specialty drug innovations. The team is composed of Doctors of Pharmacy, registered pharmacists and nurses, reimbursement specialists, and dedicated patient care coordinators (PCCs) uniquely certified to provide prompt access and support for the latest specialized oncology therapy regimens including Revlimid® and Pomalyst®.
MSHO members can send referrals through a special fax line (1-855-313-9199), which is dedicated to this effort.
Axium’s OncologyVisions® program has supported thousands of oncology practices and their patients for years. However, this newly enhanced offering further improves on patient, practice and payer outcomes by building on Axium’s industry-leading therapy management measures through the following:
---Certified oncology therapy management staff to deliver a higher level of expertise in process, procedural, and product management in specific drug regimens, as well as 24x7 patient support and education;
---Streamlined PAP and benefit verification process, expedited tier 1 referrals, and team-based patient management protocols;
---Dedicated data entry, verification, and PCC-REMS certified training; and
---Enhanced IT technologies for seamless management of oncology regimens.
Through the Kroger Company, Axium has a unique history of bringing specialty pharmacy therapy to the state of Michigan. The Kroger Company has 128 stores in Michigan, with a fast-growing 17,000-person workforce, which significantly extends access to specialty drugs and support services to patients and practices all throughout the state.
“Axium Healthcare Pharmacy has played a historic role in supporting specialty drug innovation throughout the state of Michigan; and this role is growing rapidly in the oncology space. Through this enhanced oncology initiative, we can keep this innovation accessible to all MSHO members—by driving continuously improving therapeutic and procedural outcomes,” says Mark Montgomery, President and CEO of Axium Healthcare. “Axium is able to provide certified oncology product and process management, and highly-specialized clinical and patient support. Axium believes that in doing this, we can guide Michigan’s practices, patients and payers along a better path to oncology care.”
