Ayurveda is the ancient and traditional medicine of India. A holistic form of medicine, Ayurveda focuses on creating an optimal environment within the body for healing to take place. The goal of Ayurveda is to support the body’s internal healing capability. The science of Ayurveda views the human being as a dynamic, life affirming organism that in its natural state is healthy, free from disease and at peace with life. This happens without effort when the human being is living a harmonious life.
The Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist (CAS) works on supporting their patients to adopt a healthy lifestyle that is in harmony with their constitution. When a patient sees a Practitioner, they will learn about their constitution as well as the nature of any imbalances. They will also receive support to adjust your diet and lifestyle accordingly and to normalize your digestion and elimination. As part of the program, an Ayurvedic Specialist can include ayurvedic herbal medicines, aromatherapy, color therapy, sound and mantra, and Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy. They not only work with the best of preventative health care, but if a person has a specific condition and is looking for clinical management through Ayurvedic Medicine, they can receive clinical advice.
The Clinical Ayurvedic Specialists (C.A.S.) and Ayurvedic Health Practitioners (A.H.P.) are the most thoroughly trained practitioners in the field of Ayurveda in the United States. With more than 500 graduates, CCA provides both academic and clinical training in preparation for students to go into private practice. It is the dharma (purpose) of a C.A.S. and an A.H.P. to share their knowledge and principles of Ayurveda to uplift the health and well-being of the community.
