Azane Set to Present Their Low Charge Ammonia Refrigeration Solutions at 36th IACSC Conference & Expo to Limit the Damage Caused by HFCs

The event will open with Nelson shedding some light on the availability of low-charge ammonia cooling options and how their use is not limited by current legislations and changing landscape. Azane will be part of a refrigeration panel which will discuss the most innovative technological advances in the industrial refrigeration market today. Nelson will also highlight the economic, environmental and safety benefits of switching to low charge ammonia refrigeration systems and will be focusing on a transfer of knowledge.
Nelson said, “Traditional ammonia plants containing large amounts of ammonia can now be replaced with modern, safer pre-packaged low charge ammonia units which are in turn able to reduce the refrigerant charge to a minimum. This was the case for one of our customers - a leading distribution company-, which by making use of a low charge ammonia Azanefreezer was able to reduce their existing charge by over 90%, from an estimated 5,000lb to just 360lb.”
With the current changes in the political agenda, there has been a push by many governments to shelve the use of harmful refrigerants, including R22 and HFCs, which have come under criticism for their pernicious effects on climate change as they are linked to ozone depletion and global warming. The recent market trends and environmental pacts, including the recently ratified Paris Climate Agreement and the Montreal Protocol, are now pushing cold storage companies to phase down the use of these gases which up until now have been commonly used in refrigeration systems.
Ammonia has been long known to be one of the most efficient natural refrigerants and it continues to be seen as one of the most viable options for companies looking to replace their existing R22 and HFC systems.
