Azerbaijan – Sport in Focus exhibition receives plaudits from Baku 2015 European Games mastermind
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 17 April 2015 -- Simon Clegg, Chief Operating Office, Baku European Games Operations Committee (BEGOC) – and formerly Chief Executive of the British Olympic Association in its successful bid to win the London 2012 Olympics – has warmly endorsed the 'Azerbaijan – Sport in Focus' exhibition. This initiative by The European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS) comprises 65 photos, selected from more than 300 submissions to the photography competition of the same name.
The competition and exhibition were in celebration of the inaugural European Games, to be hosted in Baku from 12–28 June. Altogether, 6000 athletes are expected to participate, representing 50 countries.
To date, these stunning images – submitted by more than 50 photographers from 10 countries – have been exhibited at the gallery@OXO on London’s South Bank and Musée National du Sport in Nice. The next stop will be the Dutch town of Maastricht, before the exhibition continues its tour of Europe.
Received on 8 April, the letter reads: “I am glad that the competition has been successfully accomplished and your Society is organising exhibitions of the selected photos across Europe.
“Thank you for all the hard work of your Society in raising the profile of Azerbaijan and the European Games in Baku.”
