BABALU Taco Shop a Success; Raises Memphis Girl with Cystic Fibrosis
Memphis, TN (PRWEB) October 13, 2016 -- Hospital visits and medical procedures have been a part of nine-year-old Vega Lowry’s life since she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at just five days old. Treatments are a costly, but a necessary expense for the Lowry’s family.
On Wednesday, September 28, Babalu Tapas & Tacos sought to help alleviate the cost of Vega’s medical expenses through Vega’s Taco Shop. The restaurant was able to raise over $3,000 during the all-day pop up restaurant.
“I really appreciate the opportunity to share Vega’s story and so thankful for the consideration in the Taco Shop,” Becky Clark, Vega’s mother. “The love and generosity from those willing to take on this fight with us is such a gift in itself."
“Investing in our community has been an important part of the Babalu culture since the day we opened our doors,” said Bill Latham, CEO and co-founder of Babalu. “The Taco Shop events are particularly special because it gives our staff the opportunity to get to know the families we are helping.”
Located in Overton Square, Babalu Tapas & Tacos serves authentic, gourmet tacos and Spanish style tapas with a Southern twist. To learn more about Babalu Memphis, visit their website.
