Baby Delivery Expected to Double for the Month of December in the Plano, Texas Area
Plano, Texas (PRWEB) December 15, 2015 -- The Women's Specialists of Plano are seeing a baby boom in the Plano, Texas area, and some are linking the increase in deliveries to the release of the movie “Fifty Shades of Grey”! The romantic drama film was released in theaters on February 13, 2015 – just 9 months ago – giving this baby delivery increase the title ‘Greyby Boom’. Despite the mixed reviews, the film was an immediate box office success, currently ranked as the 8th highest grossing film of 2015.
Between the days of December 4 and 5 of 2015, the Medical Center of Plano delivered 31 babies. On average, the Medical Center of Plano delivers 200 babies each month, and with the rise in baby deliveries that number is predicted to double in the month of December.
It is hard to pinpoint an exact cause of the baby boom. Pregnancy doctor Jules Monier, MD of the Women’s Specialists of Plano said with a smile, “Is it the stars? Is it the solar flare? Is it the alignment of the moon? – If you know that answer please tell me, because that would make scheduling much easier.” Some are also attributing the baby delivery increase to the stormy weather that occurred in Plano, Texas during February and March of 2015.
"I'm not sure that a movie release would cause a surge in deliveries like this, but we aren't ever surprised nine months after Valentine's Day. The good news is that both the hospital and our group are always ready for the business that can come with any delivery season," said pregnancy doctor Elizabeth Coronado, MD of the Women's Specialists of Plano.
