Backroads Keeps On Adventuring With More Than 40 New Active Travel Trips Launching in 2017
Berkeley, CA (PRWEB) September 13, 2016 -- As summer vacations are winding down, Backroads, the world’s leading active travel company, is enticing travelers to start thinking about their next adventure with the announcement of more than 40 new trips across the globe in 2017. The new lineup represents all activities of Backroads’ signature adventures, from Biking to Walking & Hiking, Multisport, active River Cruising, Family Trips and Family Breakaway Trips.
Backroads’ new destinations include an exciting adventure to Japan with a walking and hiking tour of Imperial Tokyo and the Northern Alps. A Bermuda bike tour exploring its pastel villages, pink-sand beaches and British colonial history. A Munich to Salzburg bike tour from Germany’s Bavaria to Austria’s Tyrolean Alps. And a Basque Country multisport adventure tour from Bilbao to Biarritz, with visits to beaches, the Pyrenees and a chance to hike, bike and experience Basque culture.
The company has continued to expand its ever-popular active River Cruise segment with additional departures on the Danube, Rhine, Seine and Portugal’s Douro River. New in 2017, Backroads is launching a Galápagos, Andes & Amazon River Cruise Walking tour, which combines both land activities and cruising on the Napo River inside the Amazon basin. Backroads is also rolling out a new Vietnam, Cambodia & Laos River Cruise Biking tour, offering guests the opportunity to sail and bike along the Mekong River. Guests will explore villages, jungles, bustling cities and ancient temples while diving deep into the local culture, cuisine and customs.
