BACnet International Board of Directors Begin New Term
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 18, 2015 -- BACnet International, the industry association that facilitates the successful use of the BACnet protocol in building automation and control systems, announced the results of its recent board of directors elections. The new board is comprised of seven executives, including: Andy McMillan, Brad Hill, Roland Laird, Trevor Palmer, Raymond Rae, Nancy Stein, and Michael R. Wilson. The following individuals are members of the 2015 BACnet International Board of Directors:
Andy McMillan, President & Managing Director-BACnet International
Andy McMillan is President of BACnet International, where he works with users and suppliers to expand and enhance the BACnet community. Andy’s background includes broad open systems industry development and marketing experience, as well as strong technical knowledge of distributed automation and information management systems. Andy has co-founded several companies and has been a featured speaker on open systems and automation at conferences in North America, Europe, Japan, and Australia. Andy co-authored a book on open systems networking and holds a dozen patents in sensors, automation and software. He has MBA and BSEE degrees from the University of Michigan.
Brad Hill - Global Technology Leader - Honeywell International
Brad Hill is working as a Global Technology Leader for Honeywell International where he is involved in developing solutions for the energy domain. He joined Honeywell in 1990 where he was involved in the design and programming of complex integrated control solutions for large projects. He began involvement with BACnet in 1996 through the need to integrate BACnet devices into building management systems. In 1999, he began product development work which included the development of a BACnet Operator Workstation, where he acquired a deep knowledge of the BACnet standard, after which time he continued on to lead Building Management product developments, and ultimately govern over them. He holds an MBA, BCompSc (Hons), and a DipElecEng, and is a certified Six Sigma Black Belt and PMP®.
Roland Laird, Reliable Controls
Roland Laird is the founder and President of Reliable Controls Corporation. Since 1986, Reliable Controls has grown to 100 professionals, providing a comprehensive BACnet Building Automation system. In his current role as President, Roland maintains an active involvement in product development with special emphasis on quality assurance. Through 2005 to 2010, he was an active participant in BACnet International’s BACnet Testing Labs working group and the ASHRAE SSPC 135 BACnet Committee. Roland graduated with honors in Instrumentation Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1980.
Trevor Palmer - Vice President, Products and Marketing - Distech Controls
Trevor Palmer is the Vice President, Products and Marketing for Distech Controls, where he is responsible for the continued development of Distech Controls’ Marketing and Products departments. He drives Distech Controls’ field device program, so as to further enhance customer experience with best in class field devices. Trevor brings more than 15 years of experience in contracting, manufacturing and technical sales organizations throughout North America and Europe.
Raymond Rae - Vice President - Delta Controls, Inc.
Raymond Rae is the Vice President of Delta Controls Inc., a full line manufacturer of native BACnet Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems for Building Automation Systems (BAS). Raymond co-founded the Delta Controls Group in 1980, which now has thousands of installations worldwide. Raymond has enjoyed more than 35 years in the HVAC industry and has an extensive background, which includes: energy auditing, computerized building simulations, system commissioning, controls, engineering, product certifications, design, and marketing. Raymond has been a member of ASHRAE since 1984.
Nancy Stein - Director HVP Product Marketing - Siemens Industry Inc.
Nancy Stein is Director of Product Management for Siemens Building Technologies, Control Products and Systems (CPS) Business Unit. In her role, Ms. Stein is responsible for strategic direction of all CPS products. She also monitors the development of business plans and manages product lifecycles and market positioning. Ms. Stein has been with Siemens for over 22 years in product marketing and solution sales positions. Nancy has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a MBA from DePaul University.
Michael R Wilson – Product Marketing Manager - Automated Logic
Michael has worked for Automated Logic since 2003, and is presently the Product Marketing Manager. In this role, Michael gathers VOC, competitive, and market analysis in order to support product roadmap.
