Badger Fire And Rescue All Volunteer Department is Sponsoring the Firehouse Rock with the Vic Ferrari Band On August 8th
Badger, Iowa (PRWEB) July 28, 2015 -- The Badger Fire and Rescue Department located in Badger, Iowa is currently fund raising to purchase a new pumper truck that will replace the 1989 unit that is used today. A new pumper truck will cost approximately $250,000. The Firehouse Rock that will be held on August 8th this year has been expanded from the familiar Fireman’s Ball that has been held in the past.
The evening will begin at the Badger Ball Park with a dinner starting at 5:00 pm. Everyone will enjoy the pulled pork sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, BBQ beans and refreshments for only $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children under 10. The live auction will be held at 6:00 pm. Vic Ferrari Band will take the stage at 8:30 pm and play until midnight. There will be beer and coolers available to purchase all evening. Tickets for the Vic Ferrari Band are $10.00 or $15.00 which includes the dinner. Tickets can be purchased at Hy Vee Fort Dodge, from department members, online at http://www.eventbrite.com or at the gate. Rain location will be the Badger Fire and Rescue Fire Station.
Area businesses are showing their support for the volunteers with their sponsorship of the event. Currently the list includes Gold Level Sponsorships from Cargill, Soldier Creek Winery, Rogers Tire Service, and Armstrong Plumbing. Silver Level Sponsorships included State Farm-Jeff Haupts Agency, Kemna Auto, Reekers Heating and Cooling, Laufersweiler Funeral Home, Budget Host, Rides Bar and Grill, Blue Ribbon Pelham Waters, Nels Pederson Construction, Reihl Insurance, The Community Orchard, Fort Dodge Ford Toyota, Shimkat Motor Company, Troy Waller Auto Body and C&S Products. Business that are listed as Supporting include Pfister Seeds, City of Badger, Jensen Construction, Hora Farms, Sande Builder’s Mart, ADF, Chantland MHS, Kraayenbrink Financial and Brokaw Supply.
Services provided by the Badger Fire and Rescue cover over a 60 mile area. These services are fire, rescue and EMS. There are over 20 volunteers in the department that donate over 10,000 hours each year on calls, attending trainings and maintaining the equipment and actual fire station.
Over and above all the volunteer hours that the members donate, it also requires that they conduct various fund raisers during the year to cover the costs of the department. Volunteer fire departments receive very little tax dollars in the community that they serve. In order to have the equipment needed to provide the services and maintain the department, events like the Firehouse Rock are put on by the volunteers.
“The members have been devoting their time planning the Firehouse Rock event for the last several months. Our goal is to finalize the funding for the new pumper truck this year so we can have it at our next Firehouse Rock in 2016,” says Troy Martens, Badger Fire and Rescue Volunteer and Chair for the Firehouse Rock.
The Badger Fire and Rescue is located at 150 2nd St SE, Badger, Iowa 50516. Service area covered by the all-volunteer fire and rescue department include the City of Badger and the townships of Deer Creek, Badger, and Cooper. Everyone is encouraged to go to the Badger Fire and Rescue Facebook page for more information.
