BAE Audio Receives TEC Award Nomination for 1066DL Equalizer
Anaheim, Calif. (PRWEB) September 22, 2016 -- BAE Audio, manufacturer of audio equipment faithful to vintage design specifications, announced that its new 1066DL equalizer has captured a nomination in the 'Signal Processing Hardware (500 Series Modules)' category for the 32nd Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards. This is the second year in a row that BAE Audio has received a nomination in this category, with the 1073MPL receiving a nomination for last year’s awards. The 1066DL joined the 1073MPL and other offerings in BAE Audio’s growing line of 500 series preamplifiers and equalizers, bringing these desirable vintage circuit designs to the compact “lunchbox” format.
Presented by the NAMM Foundation, the TEC Awards are the pro audio and musical instrument industries' most prestigious awards, honoring outstanding achievement in product innovation and sound production. Following a two-month call for entries, a panel of respected industry professionals from the audio and creative disciplines carefully evaluated each entry before selecting the 1066DL. Winners will be announced during an awards ceremony at the Hilton Anaheim Hotel’s Pacific Ballroom on January 21st.
The 1066 DL equalizer is based on the classic 1066 circuit, which features the same mic-line preamplification stage as the 1073, but with different frequency selections in its midrange band. These frequency selections give it a unique sonic palette that makes it a standout choice for a wide range of applications, including guitars. BAE Audio’s 1066DL also provides 5 selectable frequencies for the high frequency shelf, unlike the fixed 10 kHz shelf of the original design. Carnhill St. Ives transformers—like those in the BAE Audio 1073—ensure the classic sounds of the beloved 70s consoles that have left their mark on countless hit records.
“With the 1066DL equalizer we were looking to expand the range of options available to our customers in the popular 500 series format,” says BAE Audio CEO Mark Loughman. “We’re glad fitting the vintage design and sound of the 1066 into a compact 3-space hand-wired 500 series unit without compromising on a single component is certainly a feat worthy of acknowledgement.”
